Hi, I’m Dr. Jasmine
Grounded in identity. Guided by purpose. Built for community.
I'm a neurodivergent, bilingual Black woman from Upstate New York, and the work I do now grew directly out of what I lived to get here. It became clear to me early on that communities like mine rarely get spaces designed with them in mind. That conviction sits behind everything I do.
I'm the founder and clinical director of Welkin Wellness, a practice supporting individuals, couples, and families through life's harder chapters with care that's grounded, compassionate, and culturally responsive. Welkin came out of a personal belief as much as a professional one: that healing should reflect the fullness of who you are.
That same belief led me to found Kin in Practice, which might be the work I'm most proud of. It's a curated professional network for Black mental health clinicians; a place to exchange referrals, share resources, and support one another in building practices that last. Black professionals in this field are too often isolated or overlooked. Kin in Practice is my answer to that: community, infrastructure, and the conviction that we deserve support too.
In over a decade of practice, I've come to specialize in trauma and dissociative disorders, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and the hard transitions families move through, from conflict to uncoupling. I hold a PhD in International Psychology, with doctoral work centered on developmental trauma and Borderline Personality Disorder. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and board-approved clinical supervisor in Maryland, Virginia, and DC.
My work and perspective have been featured in Alma’s inaugural In Practice newsletter, where I shared my journey to becoming a clinician, as well as in their blog post, 7 Postpartum Depression Symptoms You Might Miss. I have also been featured in VoyageBaltimore in Exploring Life & Business with Dr. Jasmine Williams, LCSW-C of Welkin Wellness.
At its core, my work draws on academic rigor and lived wisdom in equal measure. Whether I'm working with clients, corporations, or fellow clinicians, the aim is the same: spaces where healing, connection, and community can take root and hold.
